Cheap and cheerful or just avoid?

I'm currently looking for a replacement for my swb transit and I've come across the ldv v80. They seem way cheaper than anything equivalent and reasonably well specced. has anyone had one? How bad could it be?

About two years ago we had a rep trying to get us to lease one of these. It was something silly like £450 a month, a T6 was £310ish.

Also I’ve seen new Traffics for £13ish plus vat, not recently, but last year.

Every other Van I've looked at is at least £16500 plus vat where the ldv is £16k Inc vat and the 5 year warranty is a big selling point

They're essentially the same van, the V80 is built by Chinese firm SAIC who bought all the tooling so you're basically buying the same vehicle that was launched in 2004… this is why they get a bad rep as £13k for what is essentially a 16 year old van with a shiny grille doesn't start to look as cheap when you could get a low miles 1-2 year old model from any of the other manufacturers for similar money.

Tbh I actually really like my 12 plate transit but with the ulez starting next year and my van needing a few repairs I'm better off getting a newer van now. I just don't want to spend more than I need to, I'd rather blow my spare cash on fun stuff

I would steer clear of the LDV,its cheap for a reason

I had a look at the smaller vans but they seem just a bit too short as the longest boxes i need to load up are 2.1m plus the lower payload doesn't help
