I need to replace my Outwell Montana 6 as it has started to leak a bit all across the roof - I suspect due to UV degradation

Anyone got any recomendations for a similar-size tent? Prefer metal poles, as they seem to stand up to strong winds better than the fibreglass ones

Budget is up to about £750 I guess.

Not sure about the value of an air tent. Me and my 10 year old daughter had the Montana 6 up and pegged in under 25 minutes over the weekend, I doubt and air tent is much quicker, and they are significantly bigger and heavier to store by the look of it.

Where are you based? SK Camping at Godstone just off J6 of the M25 has a huge selection of tents on display. The reality probably is you wont go far wrong with another Outwell.

Just to give a bit of closure to the thread...

Had to collect my sister from Gatwick airport so popped in to SK Camping before I went to the airport.
Good to see a load of tents in situ and they had some good offers on.
Glad I went to look because something I hadn't though about was that we are four people in a six man tent, and most six man tents divide their bedrooms in to three so they are smaller than the two we had before. Another "discovery" was that I didn't like the look of flexible fibreglass poles (bit flimsy feeling and moved around a lot).
The airbeam tents looked great but don't seem to offer much for the extra cost other than slightly quicker erection, and a lot of them seem to have a reputation for leaking. I did fall in love with a huge airbeam polycotton tent, but that was £1300 so easy to dismiss on budget grounds. Even my advanced levels of man maths were going to struggle with that.

In the end I decided to replace our old Montana 6 with ... a new Montana 6 smile

I really did fancy a change, but the Outwell just ticks all the boxes for me.
It has two (rather than three) bedrooms so more space
It was reduced by £100 and came with a free carpet (which are a fortune otherwise!)
Metal poles

Looking forward to taking it out in the glorious summer sunshine soon
The front extension we have should fit the new tent (although a slightly different pattern material)
