Right, i'm off to pick up my new (to me) estate car tomorrow. Going to f*ck off up to Scotland and hopefully have a few stop offs on the way up and down from the garden of England.

Thinking of roughing it in the car when I find nice out of the way places, the odd nights cleaning up in BnBs. Using cafes/McDonalds for number 2's.

What things do I need to take with me ? Thinking -

  • bed/mattress - saw some people suggest air type camping mattresses recently but can't find the thread - recommend ?
  • sleeping bag - GOT.
  • pillow - GOT.
  • gas stove for brewing/cooking - recommend ?
  • pot
  • mug
  • spoon large and small
  • water container
  • plastic boxes to keep food in
  • someway to keep a pint of milk chilled/packet of bacon - recommend ?
  • string - no idea why
  • a pair of clothes pegs - maybe 4
  • duct tape
  • lighter
  • plastic bags for putting wet clothes in
  • tissues for when I get lonely
  • wet wipes
  • outdoor chair

Do I really need anything else ?

In case anybody is interested, the stove that was mentioned on page 1 -

https://m.gooutdoors.co.uk/gosystem-dynasty-compac...

seems to be sold by lots of people, all identical apart from the stickers and name on them.

Whilst doing my normal Sunday trip to Halfords I saw they were selling them for £8 each. Also 4 gas canisters for £5.

Good tips - I was going to buy one of those collapsible water jugs but won't anymore.

Thought the simple bottles of water were the way to go.
