The worst book you have ever read.
Discussion
Inspired by another thread, ‘giving up on a book’ I would like to know what you would consider the worst book you have ever read?
Mine, as posted in that thread, are:
1: 'When the Wind Blows' by James Patterson. This is about, and I am not kidding, ‘secret flying children’.
2: ‘One Day’ by David Nicholls... Astonishingly awful.
So, everyone, your nominations?

Not the right thread for it, but Peter Hitchens 'The Rage Against God' might interest you.
As I am sure you are well aware, the brothers held opposing views.
(It will likely not make a convert of you either, but it's an enjoyable read, and less likely to make 'the worst' list )
Which reminds me, I must put down Russian classics and Solzhenitsyn for a bit and read 'God is not great'.
Having watched quite a few hours of his debates and talks, I expect I am quite familiar with the content already.
The Qu'ran will remain lower on the 'must read list', but for the benefit of intellectual discussions with my few Muslim friends, it's probably worth making the effort.
I enjoyed 'God is not great' very much, I always found the Hitch vastly entertaining and really miss having him around. I would LOVE to hear what he might have to say about Trump, for example. As I am sure you are well aware, the brothers held opposing views.

When I saw this thread I immediately thought 'When the Wind Blows' and it's even more terrible sequel 'The Lake House'. Then I saw your no.1 choice and felt my decision was entirely vindicated! Mine, as posted in that thread, are:

They both had a terrible premise (although the idea of 'shucking' was vaguely interesting) and I couldn't stand James Patterson's writing style. I had to will myself to finish the second book as I hate to leave a book unfinished.

lots on here reminding me of ghastly dull books (Moby Dick , anything by Dickens etc ) which then reminded me of Gormenghast which was so boring i threw it away and read Nixon's memoirs instead which seemed positively brilliantly composed and exciting prose by comparison
Anything by Dickens 'ghastly dull books'?Seriously?

Apologies if it has been mentioned before but for me it was "To Kill A Mockingbird" - it just dragged aimlessly on and on with no real destination in sight.
No wonder Harper Lee never had another book published in her lifetime!
Interesting, to me that's one of the most perfect books ever written. No wonder Harper Lee never had another book published in her lifetime!
