I've just ordered this, anyone read it yet? I loved all the early Le Carre novels, and Tinker Tailor Solider Spy is one of my favourite books. Good to see him returning to his old characters and the blurb seems to suggest it links into the old stories, especially The Spy Who Came in From the Cold.

Not much love for Le Carre then?

A few chapters in. Good so far, although certainly different from his early stuff in terms of style. The time line is a bit hard to work out. It seems to be set in the modern day, they talk about mobile phones and emails but the story involves their involvement in what lead up to the The Spy Who Came in From the Cold which was set in the late fifties. Smiley hasn't turned up yet but I assume he does but he must be knocking on for 100 years old.

I've just finished. Fairly disappointed. It started slow, then built and then just ends with nothing. Its like he forgot to write the last bit and did the night before it had to go to the publishers.

I did like the main story though and how it segued (speeling?) in and out of the main story of the Spy Who in Came in From the Cold. The time line makes more sense after you finish the last chapter also.
