the other night as I was dropping off to snooze, I was thinking of this one particular scene from a film and it's driving me mad trying to remember the name of the movie.

It's a scene in a hospital corridor and one of the characters (can't remember if they are male or female) is walking down the corridor when three nuns float towards and past them. Very creepy, but can't remember if the film is a horror, a thriller or what.

As far as I can recall the character walking down the corridor may be on their way to visit a sick or dying relative/partner in the hospital, so the nuns might well be some sort of vision.

I'm looking on the Internet Movie Database but so far haven't found anything....

Ring any bells?

I've not seen Twelve Monkeys so it can't be that one.

Pretty sure it wasn't a dream!

The Exorcist III has floating nuns in it IIRC - I saw it about 12 years ago, though - have a vivid memory of this nun flashing by with a HUGE pair of medical shears, about to decapitate someone...

I remember that scene and it wasn't the one I'm thinking of, but that film scared the poo out of me though!

The Sixth Sense...

Lemmonie is adamant it's not Sixth Sense

Could it be "Stigmata" with Gabriel Byrne and one of the Arquette sisters?

Way Of The Gun ???

that's quite obviously some obscure cowboy-themed film that no girl will ever have watched.

It is definitely and without a shadow of a doubt "Stigmata".....

A friend who is languishing at home with a bad abcess (although personally, I think it's the onset of "cherubism") has just been roused from her sofa in order to put the DVD on and go thru all the scene selections until she found it.

Thank god - I was beginning to get really irritated that I'd even posed the question!

Obviously not a film buff then.

It's an oscar winning film by the same screen writer as "The Usual Suspects". It was made in 2001 and stars Ryan Phillippe, Benicio Del Toro and Juliette Lewis!

An absolute CLASS film!!!

I stand corrected. Gosh you're very authoritative.

sounds like there's more than one film with this particular scene in it then.
