Nico's punishment.
Discussion
Ok,
This is NOT a thread for people to argue the toss about whether or not Lewis was wholly or partly responsible for the events at Spa.
Given that Mercedes have publicly stated that Nico will be punished at that a slap on the wrist is not going to be enough - does anyone know when the sanction will be disclosed, or even if it will actually be disclosed or be kept within the team?

I can't see it being a fine. I don't think that will have any impact on him.
I do wonder if they might give Lewis priority on pitstops for a race and/or prevent Nico from seeing Lewis' telemetry for setting up and quali..... Whether that be one race or two or three would be interesting.

They will re-enact that famous scene with Nico as Bishop Brennan and Lewis as Fr. Ted and Toto will play the part of Dougal, with camera
Now that would be funny.BUT, I can't be the only one thinking Mercedes are going to do something and make sure we know they are doing something - I can't see them being happy with their image that Nico was booed and now possibly is happy to cheat (subject to what version of events you believe)?!?

I suspect Mercedes don't care, they have Constructors and Drivers Championship 1st & 2nd in the bag- job done, probably already planning the 2015 title defense in earnest.
Well, if they both keep qualifying first and second and take each other out in the first couple of laps, Mercedes will actually throw it all away. And I don't think Mercedes squeaky clean corporate is happy with their driver being subject to booing on world TV.
Can anyone who wishes to engage in childish conduct please start their own thread to argue the toss about factual matters.
This thread is purely for discussion as to punishment. Sadly it does appear we won't truly get to find out, however I'd say given Lewis' facebook capitulation it is something he is content with. I suspect Lauda will want to ensure Lewis is happy in the team. I do also note a couple of clear phrases which give something of the game away to me about Merc/PETRONAS being unhappy at potentially being seen as cheating...
A shame however but maybe at some stage we will find out exactly what the sanction was, or if other sanctions were threatened/promised for similar conduct.

Suitable disciplinary action has been taken, according to the team...
It does appear to be the case that they are not keen to disclose what has happened. Which is a shame. I wonder if Nico will still get booed? And if he does win the WDC to my mind it is now tainted (and makes me question Monaco too).

Having now seen Rosberg take Hamilton out and the aftermath, ie Rosbergs interviews and him admitting not wanting to back down regardless of the consequences (if I have read it right) I am now further convinced that the Monaco incident was intentional.
Chris.
You are not alone. I gave him the benefit of the doubt at the time. Now I am not so sure.Chris.

Personally I thought that looked very sus at the time. Mostly down to the sawing at the wheel as he went through the braking zone.
Now it stinks even more.
I gave him the benefit of the doubt, perhaps hitting a bump, going a bit too fast and having to stamp on the brakes.. Now it stinks even more.
But the reverse was difficult to overlook. Now, very difficult to overlook.
Is a fine sufficient punishment I wonder? I do wonder what else was said behind the scenes as to what might take place should he crash into Lewis again.
