Spoiler alert -------------- Bottas won his first GP at the last race in Russia.

This got me thinking......

Anyone in a car with a reasonable chance of winning has already won a race so:

- who will be F1's next first time winner?

It was almost a year since the last first time winner (spoiler alert - Max won the 2016 GP in Spain)...so:

- what has been the longest gap between first time winners?

- and what's the shortest gap, or, since this is probably 1 race, what's the most consecutive races to have first time winners?

Long gaps between first time winners, best I can come up with is around 3 years:

Berger - Mexico (race 5) 1986
Boutsen - Canada (race 6) 1989

Naninni - Japan (race 15) 1989
Schumacher - Belgium (race 12) 1992

Webber - Germany (race 9) 2009
Rosberg - China (race 3) 2012

This is all the 1st time winners working backwards:

I'd put 1992 - 1995 also in your list above. 1982 -1995 seems to be the scarcest period of 1st time winners.
You missed off Damon.

..... and Rene Arnoux.
