Karun stated earlier today that Kubica could well be testing a current spec car in Budapest. The team have had to modify the placement of a number of switches on the steering wheel to accommodate the lack of flexibility in his fingers, but apart from that they foresee no real issues with him getting into the modern car.

It's official, Renault reckon Jolyon Palmer isn't as good as a man with a broken hand.

He's a great driver for sure, but the main question really, is will he be allowed to drive an F1 car with his hair thinning like that? With F1 being keen on safe cars/drivers, and so many other drivers with a full head of hair, Sadly I just can't see it.
This is a very valid point and I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned before. There are contingency plans of course, which is why the sponsors' hats are so prevalent and are obligatory headgear whenever there's a camera present.
Mind you, now that Hamilton is starting show real signs of male pattern baldness, perhaps balaclavas will be mandatory for the duration of a race weekend?

It's certainly a worry.

Poor bloke got pounced on at the Autosport awards. That might be enough to make him reconsider his career...

Joe Saward
These days I view Sawad's observations with complete scepticism. His propensity for bias really shone through when Caterham and Lotus did their recent F1 stuff. I just can't take him seriously any more so much so that I either disregard what he churns out or prefer to believe the exact opposite. (This may be more my issue than his.)

As for Williams and Kubica it seems that a predominantly financial decision has been made in preference to an emotional one. Can't really fault them for that and it's certainly not the first time such a choice has needed to be made by them or any of the other teams.

I wonder what's next for Robert?

Kubica will be a shadow of his former self IMO. 1 Season and gone. No Podiums, No fastest laps. No race wins.
Some ballsy predictions there rolleyes
Will that be the fault of the car or the driver?
