Potential US Grand Prix Visit

My wife and I both enjoy our F1, and the US race over in Austin is very much on our bucket list.
The 2018 race falls on the first Sunday of October half term week, so we'd likely be arriving in Austin on Saturday of the race weekend.
Normally we do Silverstone over 3 days, would we miss out on a lot of we rocked up on race day only for the US event?

I would say take a bit more time there, Austin is a brilliant city! Don't miss out! Lots of great food, evening entertainment etc.
Sorry should have been clearer.We'd fly in on the Saturday and have a week in Texas, flying home the following Saturday night. Race on the Sunday.
