Hi All
I was interested to see who our current F1 drivers have competed against (in F1) and I produced a timeline showing this. It’s quite revealing because you can see, for example, how many current drivers have been on an F1 grid with Jean Alesi and Eddie Irvine. This got me wondering about how many career overlaps there are between world champions. It doesn’t mean much but it is interesting to see that you can get from Farina to Hamilton in only six career overlaps. Anyway, if you want to take a look, see

Cheers
Bob.

I get a server error on that link.

I discovered a few weeks back that Kimi has raced in F1 against 2 generations of Verstappens.
Not sure why you got the server error. I must admit I did yesterday too when on 3G in a car - maybe the page was taking too long to load because of the graphics?? Seems OK now. Sorry about that.

Yes that is one of the things I learnt from plotting it - ie Kimi /and the Verstappens

Any chance of including sabbaticals -- e.g. Raikkonen (2010-11) which means he hasn't raced against Lucas de Grassi, M Schumacher (2007-9) which means he hasn't raced against Markus Winkelhock.
There are only so many hours in the day ;-) Happy to share the original graphics with anyone who does want to do this. But to do it properly you need to include parts of years and then the graphic gets far too large and complex. Think about Button at Monaco last year. That would have to go in really.
