F1: Beyond The Grid Podcast
Discussion
I don't know if this will be of interest to you guys here, however I have recently discovered a podcast called F1: Beyond The Grid.
I find it really interesting - Tom Clarkson seems to get some good info out of these guys.
So far I have listened to interviews with:
Lewis Hamilton
Martin Brundle
Christian Horner
Mark Webber
Robert Kubica
Esteban Ocon
All really interesting interviews and I have learned something new from each one so far. For example (as I have just finished listening to it!), Ocon's parents sold their house and moved into a van + caravan to allow him to pursue karting for 3 years. Incredible dedication to their chosen sport.

I agree about the background noise, however I get the impression that he takes any opportunity to do the interview as opposed to being perfect. In some ways it probably ends up with a better outcome as the interviewees are more relaxed in the environment of, say, their team motor home than a studio.
I don’t know who’s idea it was, but assume it’s Bose who are funding it?

I think TC is a good interviewer. He rarely asks closed questions and invites the subject to give more detail and information. I haven't listened to all yet. The EJ one is better that I thought it would be and fair play to him, he made a lot of money taking risks.
I have to say, I think he is a really good interviewer. What I like is he asks the question and actually lets the other guy answer it. Seems like a rare quality in an interviewer these days!Edited by The Moose on Thursday 30th August 21:14

Listened to most of it on the commute home. I thought he came across quite fake, trying too hard to convince that he's having a great time post retirement.
This was my thought too.All the "dear listeners" was pretty fake sounding to me.
It also sounds like he's going to blow a load of dosh on bizarre "investments".
