I don't know if this will be of interest to you guys here, however I have recently discovered a podcast called F1: Beyond The Grid.

I find it really interesting - Tom Clarkson seems to get some good info out of these guys.

So far I have listened to interviews with:

Lewis Hamilton
Martin Brundle
Christian Horner
Mark Webber
Robert Kubica
Esteban Ocon

All really interesting interviews and I have learned something new from each one so far. For example (as I have just finished listening to it!), Ocon's parents sold their house and moved into a van + caravan to allow him to pursue karting for 3 years. Incredible dedication to their chosen sport.

I agree about the background noise, however I get the impression that he takes any opportunity to do the interview as opposed to being perfect. In some ways it probably ends up with a better outcome as the interviewees are more relaxed in the environment of, say, their team motor home than a studio.

I don’t know who’s idea it was, but assume it’s Bose who are funding it?

I think TC is a good interviewer. He rarely asks closed questions and invites the subject to give more detail and information. I haven't listened to all yet. The EJ one is better that I thought it would be and fair play to him, he made a lot of money taking risks.
I have to say, I think he is a really good interviewer. What I like is he asks the question and actually lets the other guy answer it. Seems like a rare quality in an interviewer these days!

EJ was excellent. At least one exclusive info on there. It sets a very high standard.
I especially enjoyed the bit about the bailiffs!

Listened to most of it on the commute home. I thought he came across quite fake, trying too hard to convince that he's having a great time post retirement.
This was my thought too.

All the "dear listeners" was pretty fake sounding to me.

It also sounds like he's going to blow a load of dosh on bizarre "investments".

I enjoyed that, however I do hope TC does one on Ross Brawn about 'Not Schumacher'! He is a really interesting chap with a great story to tell.

I don’t like the advertising getting longer seemingly with each episode!

But as it’s free, and I can easily skip through it, I can’t really complain!

Really like these. Also the Nico Rosberg ones, Beyond Victory are also very good. The Danny Ric and Chris Froome particularly. Kill lots of time stuck on the M6.
I’ll try to re-listen to Rosberg’s. I listened to a few previously and they were terrible!

Today, Ross Brawn talking about Brawn GP and the 2009 season.

As always, Ross is easy to listen to, although a little diplomatic. I guess to be expected given his position.

Definitely an enjoyable podcast to listen to while walking the dog thumbup

Bernie was interesting. Clearly talking crap in places. Interesting that he apparently turned down a knighthood a couple of decades back.
