A lovely tribute from the person behind the Fake Charlie Whiting Twitter account.

Very nice. I didn't know they had such a friendly relationship.

No wonder the drivers/GPDA feel there's an us vs. them (FIA) mentality.
Because there always will be, what with the FIA doing everything possible to not let loopholes exist, and the Teams trying everything possible to find them! It's a constant battle smile

It's all part of our sport though! And Charlie was a bridge between the two quietly warring factions - managing to be reasonable, most of the time, to both. That's probably about the best anyone can do.

It's sad. It seems a lot of respected people, had a lot of respect for him. That I think says a lot about someone.

See ya Charlie. Say hi to Roland, Senna and Jules for us.
Both the above sentiments put a smile on my face. That's a damn good way of looking at it.

RIP Charlie Whiting. Always came across as an affable, approachable guy with few, if any, enemies, which I suspect is not something you could say about many in the F1 paddock. Jake Humphrey's comments about him were quite touching.

Having read the report on the BBC Sport website, I unwisely started reading the comments,

Some small minded cretin was down-voting all the RIP comments, another used it as an opportunity to berate F1 fans for following a dull sport when they could be following the true athletes of premier league football...I know posters on the F1 forums can get a bit OTT occasionally and there are comments of "it must be half term", but it seems to be permanently half term on the BBC F1 comments pages.
Appalling to act that like around a subject like this though frown
