Just had a thought; how on Earth is Peter Windsor ever going to be able to show his face around or talk about F1 ever again?

why has the other thread been closed off? would help to keep it going would love to read peoples comments (if this is genuine from twitter).
I asked the mods to (I started the thread), as it is now apparent that Rich Energy were embarrassed by Haas ;-). Still readable for sts and giggles.

Ok, I’m going to say it. It has got nothing to do with Haas performance and everything to do with Rich Energy about to be declared bankrupt to avoid having to publish any of the information the courts has ordered them to publish, which would prove just how shady the whole operation is.
It has all the hallmarks of jumping, whilst in the act of being pushed.

Or alternatively, arguing about being dumped versus "dumpee" by virtue of times that texts were sent.

As several people on Twitter have pointed out, st Energy could not have timed it worse to seriously screw up Haas's weekend.

They won't have time to do an effective rebrand job; uniforms, hospitality, motorhomes, merchandise, all still with the stolen Whyte logo all over them, or at least the RE name.

I thought they'd already taken the stolen Whyte logo off everything? Still got the black and gold and RICH ENERGY wording though.
You're right, thanks - I've just edited my earlier post - I'd forgotten Haas already did this.

The RE name's still everywhere though.

For the last few races they've just had the Rich Energy text, without the head logo, because of reasons probably made up by RE stting themselves and winging it.
Thanks, as above, I'd forgotten that.

It’s been clear to all of us that RE have all the business acumen of a dead sparrow.

Clearly they believed they had the right to terminate via public tweet.

Clearly Haas are going to bide their time in private and take them to cleaners (for all of the scrap value if 90m cans).

For all the shenanigans, if Rich Energy did actually start appearing on supermarket shelves, the chances are we'd all buy a can - if only out of curiosity.
Nope; never had Monster, Relentless or any other RB wannabes.

Only ever drunk RB on very long drives when coffee or Lucozade not available & never for fun or socially.

I've only just noticed the first sentence on Rich Energy's wikipedia page:

"Rich Energy Ltd. is a mythical British beverage company"
...and that comes up even if you just Google "Rich Energy wikipedia", as well :-)

Not sure I've seen this anywhere else worded quite like this, from crash.net (link below, quotes as page full of ads / autoplay);

Rich Energy commits to Haas F1 team after "regrettable" incident

Rich Energy has commited to the Haas F1 team following a "regrettable" incident ahead of the British Grand Prix.

Rich Energy has reaffirmed its commitment to the Haas Formula 1 team following a "regrettable" incident on the eve of the British Grand Prix.

A statement posted on social media on Wednesday ahead of this weekend's race claimed the British Energy drinks firm had terminated its title sponsorship deal with Haas.

But in a statement released by Rich Energy's shareholders on Thursday, the company said it will seek to "legally remove the individual" who posted the Tweet, adding the "rogue actions of one individual" did not represent the views of the firm.

"The shareholders who own the majority of Rich Energy, would like to clarify certain statements that have been circulated in the media from an unauthorised source," a statement read.

"We wholeheartedly believe in the Haas F1 Team, its performance, and the organisation as a whole and we are fully committed to the current sponsorship agreement in place. We also completely believe in the product of Formula 1 and the platform it offers our brand.

"Clearly the rogue actions of one individual have caused great embarrassment. We are in the process of legally removing the individual from all executive responsibilities.

"They may speak for themselves but their views are not those of the company. The incident is very regrettable; we will not be making further comment on this commercially sensitive matter and will be concluding it behind closed doors.

"We wish to confirm our commitment to the Haas F1 Team, Formula 1 and to thank the Haas F1 Team for their support and patience whilst this matter is dealt with internally."

Had to go on a rare trip to the Sun's website to find more Storey lunacy from yesterday:

Storey told SunSport: “We terminated them. Unfortunate but logical decision in light of events.”

He added: “Haas [are] nice people but the car is going backwards.

“We are a superior product to Red Bull.

“A milkfloat at back of grid a disaster for us. End of.”

That makes zero sense!

edit: Wait, so Rich Energy now owned by a different corporate entity, now chaired/owned by Storey?

..so, still dropping Haas, as per Storey comments?

edit 2: ..and still using the "banned" logo after the deadline..

So Storey has started using the RE account to describe the problem in the third person then?

We all know it's just him, in his pants, with no mates, in some rundown hotel somewhere.

Which other deluded, media-we lunatic do we know who likes to use the third person.........hmmmmm....?

Haas aren't the ones being taken to Court.

In any event, Haas' lawyer used to be a partner in Macfarlanes' sports law team, so he's probably pretty good.
My point being that if RE though they could give Haas a legal runaround, RBs legal team (as function of a multi-billion pound company used to dealing with infringement cases, will be a cut above a Haas operation - CNCcompany an order of magnitude smaller and much less publicly viable) is unlikely to be as forgiving or amenable to REs st.
