Melbourne race day

We are going to Australia next week and have tickets for the race day, in the Senna stand.
As im taking the wife, is there anything else on during the day other than racing. I would like to make a day of it, but if its just racing, she will get bored.

Thanks for the replies. We are in Melbourne for a couple of weeks. We are going over for the wife's nieces wedding, around the same time as the GP. Her fiance works for ticket master, and he got us tickets. Bonus.

You will love the city itself. In the heart it's super modern, the outer areas are laid back Victorian suberbs with trendy burger bars etc. It's a very nice place to spend time and take life easy! Try and keep the wife away from the expensive shopping district - that's general advice the world over
