Separate thread to keep support races off the F1 races thread, and to avoid discussions on those giving away spoilers for those recording support races.

First thing of note; Davide Valsecchi back in comm box! Don't know if it's a one-off, but Valsecchi always keeps things amusing.

F3 qualifying utter chaos and heading towards dangerous with queuing into final corner, looking more like a Moto3 session.

Is Davide Valsecchi doing F2 comms all season? Not sure I can cope with that laugh
I'll take Davide Valsecchi over David Croft every second of every race of the season smile

Pretty good opening race - definitely not boring and a good win for Oliver Bearman.

edit: no wait Bearman gets a 5 second penalty AFTER crossing the line - track limits apparently.....

Oliver Bearman is impressing me - excellent drive yesterday, and today he was dropped to something like 15th or 16th in opening lap chaos and has fought his way back to 7th without too much trouble - seems like a very calm head he's got there.

Not a name I've come across before this year, but not surprising as he's been racing in Germany and Italy, winning both F4 championships.

Non-stop from start to finish. Seriously impressive drive from Arthur Leclerc, 13th up to 2nd.
Yep, Very entertaining - let's hope the rest of today's races are just as good. Bearman finishes 6th in the end.

Surely Fittipaldi will take a penalty for pushing Sato into the pitman entrance?

Sato had to drive inside the pitman entry bollard to avoid him!

Surprised it took them that long to close the pit lane
Yeah - should have been done as soon as the car was blocking the lane.

I’m glad nobody’s bleeding to death in one of those cars, has any support at all arrived on the scene yet?
The drivers were already out and walking up the pitlane 5 minutes ago
Fortunately, yes.
The combination of limited service roads and slow marshall response could lead to quite a few laps wasted behind SC tomorrow in F1 as well, given they've been pushing boundaries of new cars as well, which would be disappointing.

There's the whole gamut of support races this weekend - F2, F3 and W, so here's a summary of TV times, credit to Racefans.net (https://www.racefans.net/2022/05/16/2022-spanish-grand-prix-tv-times/):

F3 qualifying completely insane - queueing and tow-hunting like Moto3.

Like a car park! Cars stationary waiting.

That was a fairly changeable W Series quali - Chadwick class of the field, not entirely unexpected.

Crawford should have been a bit more circumspect there - needs a chat with Abbie Eaton about sausage kerbs.....

Turn 1 seems made for opportunistic half-hearted, not-at-all serious overtakes with subsequent radio whining and claims to be settled once the race has finished, and hope you get the place that way.

So much easier than actually out-driving and out-thinking your opponent rolleyesrolleyesrolleyes

Interesting stewards enquiries for the T1 incidents. I don’t know what the right answer is for those. But MV does them in F1 so I assume the result is going to stand.
Yeah - not sure when a slight overlap advantage became "in front"?

You're in front when the front of the car being overtaken is behind your rear wheels - anything else and you're not in front (except on the finish line, obvs).

It's not just MV - the sports stewards say it's ok, so guess what, everyone now claims they're "in front" and "pushed off" when really all they've done is get themselves off the racing line and failed to overtake properly......
