Hi all, I'm away for a few days so thought I'd get the thread up early.
Round 5 and we’re in Miami. A new experience for everyone, it’s a fast street circuit with a predicted average speed of nearly 140mph, so quick enough. Some commentators think it will be a Red Bull circuit as it’s fast, so perhaps another Max win? There are no DRS zones shown on the circuit map yet, don’t know why.
Ricciardo always seems to go well in the USA, and he badly needs a good race (again). Surely Sainz must be due some good luck, and Hamilton will be keen to show he’s still Number 1 at Mercedes.
Virtual lap: https://youtu.be/5ZQrprQNS-c
Here’s to another great race.
Date(s): Friday 6 May to Sunday 8 May 2022.
UK Broadcast Timings (and local time)
All sessions are live on Sky F1. Qualifying and the race are shown as highlights on Channel 4.
Live timing for all sessions available here:

Lap times, PU component use, technical reports and Stewards' decisions for the weekend will appear here:

Weather forecast:
https://weather.com/en-GB/weather/today/l/25.78,-8...
Tyre options:
Pirelli has chosen the middle range of tyres, so C2, C3 and C4. The old Q2 tyre rule is scrapped for 2022.

It should be a Red Bull circuit, although I believe Ferrari are going to unleash more performance?
The 'best of the rest' battle could be spectacular- Mclarens, Alpines, Mercedes, Bottas?
I've chucked a vote in for Perez on the basis this is a Red Bull circuit and I'd like to see a different name on the top step to mix it up a little bit ... no science involved in that decision making! The 'best of the rest' battle could be spectacular- Mclarens, Alpines, Mercedes, Bottas?
Would like to see what the Alpines can do if they don't go bang but that seems unlikely
I think though it's not a bad shout, this generation of car is much more to his liking.

Is there some form of consensus as to whether Merc have made progress and, if so, what have they done? Or is it all down to tyres and ambient temperature?
They have new front and rear wings this weekend, their first real upgrades of the season. The commentators were all pretty much agreeed that they’re on the pace this weekend. One of their engineers was quietly optimistic when interviewed after P1Gassing Station | Formula 1 | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
