Hi all, I'm away for a few days so thought I'd get the thread up early.

Round 5 and we’re in Miami. A new experience for everyone, it’s a fast street circuit with a predicted average speed of nearly 140mph, so quick enough. Some commentators think it will be a Red Bull circuit as it’s fast, so perhaps another Max win? There are no DRS zones shown on the circuit map yet, don’t know why.

Ricciardo always seems to go well in the USA, and he badly needs a good race (again). Surely Sainz must be due some good luck, and Hamilton will be keen to show he’s still Number 1 at Mercedes.

It should be a Red Bull circuit, although I believe Ferrari are going to unleash more performance?

The 'best of the rest' battle could be spectacular- Mclarens, Alpines, Mercedes, Bottas?
I've chucked a vote in for Perez on the basis this is a Red Bull circuit and I'd like to see a different name on the top step to mix it up a little bit ... no science involved in that decision making!

Would like to see what the Alpines can do if they don't go bang but that seems unlikely
Last time I tipped Perez it was a disaster! (As this forum often reminds me)

I think though it's not a bad shout, this generation of car is much more to his liking.

I think he was making a point about drivers having to remove jewellery (which he won’t do)

Ricciardo seems quite bouncy but I do fear he's on borrowed time. He really is underperforming compared to Norris

Is there some form of consensus as to whether Merc have made progress and, if so, what have they done? Or is it all down to tyres and ambient temperature?
They have new front and rear wings this weekend, their first real upgrades of the season. The commentators were all pretty much agreeed that they’re on the pace this weekend. One of their engineers was quietly optimistic when interviewed after P1
I’m not so sure. I think the heat helps with tyre warm up, and the smaller wings help with porpoising, which looked to return on high fuel runs. Great job from Russell though

Just watched it, enjoyed the session but disappointed for Albon. Tricky to call the race, think I’ll stick with Max due to the RB top speed.

So, does anyone know if they can untweak?
I don’t think that’s allowed under parc fermé rules.
That's right, no more tweaking except front wing and tyre pressures.
