Watching F2 in 2017/2018 it was pretty obvious that LEC,RUS and NOR were bound for greater things in F1.

With respect the F2 graduates since then are not exactly showing WDC potential. I had high hopes for MSC after his traditional “settling in season” but with MAZ out and MAG in his reputation is showing signs of damage.

So we have Piastri (crazily) on the sidelines and none of this year’s F2 field are really shining. F2 is probably the only realistic feeder series into F1 so who and where are those future F1 stars ???

If Dennis Hauger puts together a really good end of season he may be the best in there as he came up from f3 last year
Agree with you on that. I think Theo Pourchaire is the other viable candidate but whilst he can be brilliant on his day there is still an element of inconsistency.

I doubt whether there are too many F1 team managers glued to the pitwall studying the talent during F2 races these days. As mentioned above, and with the progress of F1 in the USA, they may have more interest in watching coverage of Indy Car….

Alpine boss Otmar Szafnauer, speaking today, seems pretty confident that Piastri will be a fully fledged F1 driver next year. Which effectively means a season at Williams in 2023 followed by a graduation to Alpine the following year.

Obviously there are rumours that his Williams F1 race debut may be slightly more imminent should Latifi continue to struggle so painfully….
