Ding Ding, it’s the last stop for round 22, Abu Dhabi.
Brazil was a great race; it was good to see Mercedes getting on top of the 2022 car at last, this all bodes well for a much closer 2023. The main interest this weekend will be whether Max helps Perez to second place in the WDC, he certainly put the team in an awkward position last weekend, and whether Hamilton can break his 2022 duck.
I think the circuit suits Ferrari, and so I'm predicting a return to form and a Leclerc win, but Hamilton always goes well here so you never know.
Thanks to all for your contributions over the season, it’s certainly never dull

I thought 1/2/3 were the hardest? 3/4/5 the softest?
Good spot, yes C1 is the hardest and C5 the softest tyre, so Pirelli have the softest ones this weekend. IIRC they were the middle ones last year, with uncertainty as to the new bits of layout.

Any chance we can talk about the on track parts of the race weekend here and start a second thread for all the bickering and general arguments, it’s getting silly.
RedBull still look quick in a straight line and the long 180 turn 11 I think, Merc good in the sweeping turns Ferrari decent everywhere, qualifying is going to be super tight!
Seeing Brundle track side in Fp2 (lunch break timing spot on!) the cars still look clumsy at slow speed, feels like this won’t change for next year if the weight stays the same! They also sounded pretty good on throttle loading up out of the corners could almost tell it’s a V6 in the Ferrari!
I agree, looks super close between Merc and RB at the moment. Should be an excellent quali, and hoping next year is a lot closer at the front. How many times has the ".......You cannot be serious on there being any advantage gained, or that the .position of the tyre/rule bending overtakes/stewarding/overspend. was significantly over limit........" excuse been rolled out in the last two seasons?
2023 will be more of the same
Sorry for mentioning the past..... I know, I know...
Clearly the stewards don't agree with the dictionary definition of all/any (after 3 hours of searching for a way to back up Masi's st decision making)....2023 will be more of the same

The thread title is 2022. If I were PiaP I’d wonder why I’m bothering to start these right now. I would be sad to lose these, and others have said the same.
Want to clear these threads up? Report and ignore the trolls instead of feeding them; be open to different opinions; appreciate that the past cannot be changed. Oh, and stop arguing over minutiae and suspicions that we, as outsiders, will never know the facts of. I wonder if a sub-forum rule set for keeping on topic needs creating so mods have greater jurisdiction with the ban hammer?
Anyway, looking forward to the race on catch up later. Hope Hamilton can squeeze in a last minute win for the sake of records, but acknowledge its unlikelihood. Probably Max for the win. Would like to see Leclerc pip Perez. Would like to see Merc pop Ferrari. Would like to see Alpine implode and Norris take McLaren to fourth.
But probably none of that will happen
