JSF... get over it and return
Discussion
I know you took a double whammy the last couple of seasons due to the sport being bullst and also the chatter on here mostly arguing with you about that BS...
But I'd be amazed if you're not lurking and despite the BS, you have knowledge and insight that's worth sharing.
I for one am missing you're rude, short, sharp and informative musings.
Return you miserable old bd, you're missed!

He at least appeared to have actual knowledge of events. A pity he is gone.
Whilst I agree about his caustic nature, the point about knowledge is what gave him a pass imo. Lot's of posters on here are caustic, stubbornly opinionated... quite a few are outright trolling. But knowledge at the level JSF had to offer (and occasionally could be bothered to share), is hard to replace. Also the reason for banning, so far as I can work out, just doesn't make sense. What he stated (unless I've missed something that was removed before I saw it), was a matter of plain fact and already in the public sphere of knowledge

People leaving, forced or otherwise is the start of a decline. It might seem funny and "sod him" in the moment, but over time the more interesting contributors are whittled away.
Seen it happen on other forums.
That's basically why I bothered to start this thread. You can't attract new people that have interesting things to say if a forum community declines beyond a certain point.Seen it happen on other forums.
I hadn't actually realised he had been ejected when I posted, I thought he had just left. If the former is true however, unless he caused some huge upset I'm totally unaware of, it just seems a bit OTT to ban him as a user.

How do you do that if you're banned? No means of contact?
You can simply email the admin team - in fact that's the only way you can generally reach them - unless you're friends with one or more of them.If I were booted, given the choice, I think I'd opt to have my posts pulled tbh. Who wants an ever outdated echo of their past presence in a forum slipping from relevance without the ability to address future comments on those thoughts? Either you're present or you're not.

He is very knowledgeable about cars, both racing and roadgoing. He is straight talking and doesn't tolerate BS, which upsets some people, especially those whose fragile egos don't like their errors being pointed out.
PH is poorer without his contributions.
Whilst I do not know JSF personally I agree with this post.PH is poorer without his contributions.
Admin, take a second look at this one. You know full well he'll return if you have a respectful private conversation. It's pretty poor if you fail to make such an effort as admin of a commercially functioning F1 forum - just make an agreement with the person with actual F1 prep experience that you fell out with... Forget forum rules, this forum is a business.
F1 is growing as a sport. The F1 forum is stalling. Make good decisions about how you handle certain contributors.

I have to say, I've been looking around for a new F1 forum. Most threads here end in exactly the same tiresome acrimony. I'm not sure if it's the forum that has changed, or my age and tolerance, but if you're going to ban people for writing certain things, I'd rather ban people who add nothing but playground nonsense than people who add valuable insight but rub some folk up the wrong way.
Thanks. That's my view too. Enough nonsense, either we have a dedicated and hardcore F1 forum or we don't. If we do, we don't ban people for comments that have no bearing on their ability to contribute. This is PH, it's supposed to be a car focused escape from normal PC life chatter.
