Hi all
Very frustrated at the moment as i am selling the car ive owned for 8 years which was stolen from my home back in 2007.
I got the car back and had a claim on my insurance to repair it which i did and paid the 300 excess.
So end of story so i thought until today when i come to sell it and the buyer does a hpi check on it which says it is still showing as stolen????
Why is this???
Is it just a case the insurance company at the time never changed the records after the car was recovered and repaired???

Anyone with any ideas what i should do next.

thanks for replying this is what it actually says on report...
Condition Details
Insurance Write-off Details
This car is recorded as being a write-off due to a theft related claim on 22/07/2005.

Status is VEHICLE HAS BEEN STOLEN.

How can this be surely the insurance company would have paid me out not me having to pay for it to be repaired at the time.
Also i got a speeding ticket stop by police a year ago and they never flagged anything up!!
Help!!!!
The buyer says he wont buy if its dodgy and this is no going to help.
What do i do to get my details changed should i contact dvla or the insurance company i was with back in 2005?

thanks badger for that.
So even though it was recovered (after being used in 4 armed robberys) and i paid the excess to get it repaired why should this go against me on the history of the car this is causing a real problem between me and the buyer as he only has my word on what had happened to the vehicle.
After all the only things that needed repairing was back windscreen, a wing , and new front tyres and wing mirror.
At no time did the insurance company inform me of this going to haunt me in the future.
Maybe im being silly but i think its really poor all round.
