Car is due a service, and as this is my work car it is not going to a dealer. The indie guy I used has not bothered to come back to me with a price so I thought I might pick and choose and do some of it myself, as he gave it a once over not long ago.

I was going to change the oil myself. Fully Synthetic oil, and I would need ramps, and a filter spanner or a vacuum pump. Even then the filter cartridge is under the car so a ballache. National Tyres price - £36. At that price amm I daft to let them do it, then do the easy top bits myself?

Needs a cambelt also, but that will be a garage job.

Oil should be Castrol Magnatec 5W30 Full Synthetic according to them which is OEM spec, and would cost £25 for 4 litres from online supplier if I did i myself. My car takes a bit more I think.

Volvo S80.- Doncaster

Needs a full service. Plan at the mo. is I would to other filters and spark plugs and get a garage to do the timing belt, tensioner and aux belt which are also due.
