Rang them tuesday and was told they`d ring me back with a progress update in 24 hours. Heard nothing, rang again thursday and the phone gave a message stating "this phone number is not taking incoming calls" ....panic...!!!! Sent an eMail asking what was going on. Received a reply stating there was a problem with BT. Rang today and spoke to a very polite chap who said he would investigate the progress and get back to me by 4p.m. .....3.45 and the phone rang.....!!!! Apparently, I will have the tax disc and authorization to put my new number on my car by a week on tuesday.... I`ll give another update after then..

Waited `til thursday and then followed the instructions of Leicestershire Trading Standards.. i.e. sent a Recorded Delivery letter stating that I was giving them one week to complete the transaction or refund my money, after this time I will be commencing with legal proceedings. As for payment with a Credit Card, .......surprise, surprise, they wanted payment by Bank Transfer or cheque........ I know, I know.... the alarm bells should have rung then but with them being a well-known name, I didn`t think anything would go wrong....CraIggstar said:

Hi porschemanpat, sorry to hear of your woes. I do think though, that you just need to take control of this now. I had a similar situation with another plate dealer who ripped me off, along with many others for over 12 months. I gave them the numerous written warnings like you did, but had to take it legal to get my money back. And I got every penny back and all fees back.
Raise a claim online through https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome
It's the same as the fast track service through court (what most people call small claims court).
Detail every conceivable aspect of your issue and raise it. They then have to respond to it (in 28 days from its hearing I think) by law or they will be judged to be in breach by default. They can play for time and keep it rolling but what have you got to lose? It will cost 150 or whatever to raise it, but if they lose, you can include your costs including these fees in your claim.
I get so frustrated when I see people in your situation - often with unscrupulous numberplate dealers. You've done all you can in my opinion, so I'd take it legal now! It will take an hour to do it online and you will feel a lot better when you've done it as you'll finally be taking real action which they can't ignore!
Thanks for the advice. I don`t know if I can take any further action until this "180 days thing" has passed by ( they pointed out it`s in their terms and conditions ). I`ll give Trading Standards another ring and see what they advise. Raise a claim online through https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk/web/mcol/welcome

Thanks for the heads up on this. I have my plate up for sale with them. I would hate to think they might sell it and not pay me? I have regsitered the number for sale with several others over the weekend. I might want to withdraw it from this company if it's looking a bit iffy.
Believe me mate, you do NOT want to be dealing with this lot. Tell them you are withdrawing your plate from them immediately....!!Balmoral said:
Yeh, seen that........................... after I paid for my plate.xPOW said:
I'm not sure I agree with that. My T&Cs from a dodgy dealer (who had a lot of money confiscated off him on Monday) said it was pretty much open-ended and I still managed to get all my cash back. Depends on how agressively you want to pursue this.
Out of coincidence, I don't know what plate you're after, but I spoke to a friend in the plate business who does apparently know, and he knows categorically that your plate had already been sold and no longer for sale. If that is the case, you have a stronger case to get your cash back as they simply cannot complete their transaction.
Up to you. Personally, I'd not stand for it, and I'd raise a claim.
Trouble is, I`ve seen various comments on numerous feedback forums and even when people take this lot to court and win their case, they STILL don`t get their money back..! As frustrating as it is, I am still on reasonable speaking terms with them at present so until this 180 day thing passes I`m not wanting to rub them up the wrong way just yet. Still hoping for a miracle, I know, but as some customers do acually get sorted I keep trying to be polite.......... On a lighter note, I would like to know what it is that Mr. Verma drinks because whatever it is , it does seem to make you invincible..!!!!! Spoke to them at the beginning of April and was told that they would not be able to complete the transfer because of problems with the seller of the plate (strange that, seeing as they told me that THEY owned the plate) and would I like to pick another plate or have a refund....????? .......Bet you can`t guess which option I made...!!! Anyway, had to ring again after a couple of weeks and was told that my documents were being returned by recorded delivery and my refund would follow about a week after. Well, the documents have arrived.................

If you'd have raised a claim against them when you first had issues, I'm sure you'd have got your cash back ages ago..!

Hi
Just found this thread!! I have also suffered at the hands of these scumbags- I parted with £250 last June and received nothing. I was threatened on the phone and so took them to court. I won the case and they were ordered to pay by 3rd January- surprise surprise I have never received this either!
I continue to update my review on review centre (which they've tried to have removed to no avail) and will do so until I get my money back. They also continue to post fake good reviews on review centre as they believe people are stupid enough to believe them.
This company, and it's director Rakesh Verma, are a complete and utter joke.

Many thanks to everyone for all the advice that has been offered. I actually didn`t put the original post on in order to get guidance to sort out the issue, I`ve been in touch with a lot of legal professionals familiar with this sort of thing. My intention was to keep Reg4V in the radar of other potential customers and to possibly stop anyone else falling foul of this company, and I seem to have done that at least once (Balmoral).
I know all about taking them to small claims court, but from the dozens of forum listings (not just on here) it appears that even when ordered to refund money and costs, they still don`t do so, therefore the claimant is out of pocket even more so..!! .... As to involving bailiffs, what are they going to sieze and sell to get money owed..? ....A couple of computers and some desks and chairs..??? And those would fetch how much...? A couple of hundred quid, tops... And then Reg4V would have been shut down completely and I would have received probably five pence in the pound costs....
I have no idea how they are still able to keep on trading but they are still there taking peoples money. I would love to see them shut down, especially as I have finally been refunded my money and the cheque has cleared.
Regards to all.

Paula, thank you for sharing your experiences with us. It`s all very well people spouting off that "you should do this" or "why aren`t you doing that?".... As you point out, all the legal clout available in the system that we have just doesn`t seem to able to affect this company. I do feel very sorry for you but please continue to update this thread with any events that occur, if only to keep this topic alive, and as I pointed out, it may help stop anyone else being scammed.

Hi!
I am Paula from the above quote- just came across this!!
It may seem like 'rolling over' or 'giving up' but this guy is an expert at cheating people out of money, and seems to know exactly what he can get away with.
When I first started having issues with this company, I tried to phone several times to get answers. I had spoken to the DVLNI (as I was purchasing an Irish plate at the same time as retaining my own) and was told that the plate I had purchased was still on a vehicle in Ireland and Reg4Vehicles had made no attempt to purchase it- 6 weeks after cashing my cheque. I confronted Reg4Vehicles with this information and was screamed at and threatened down the phone and called all the names under the sun by Rakesh Verma. It was at this point I realised that this company were not as they seemed and I was told by the DVLA to report all my documents as stolen as this company were will known to them. I proceeded to speak to another reg company who managed to find out who owned this plate and they spoke to them for me. Rakesh Verma, after telling me that he would see to it personally that I never got my transfer or my money back, then tried to purchase the plate telling the owner that I had held up the transfer due to not sending all my documents in- a complete lie.
To cut a very long story short (sort of!) I had to take this to court, which finally happened in December. They didn't turn up to the court, nor explain why they weren't there. The judge was very unimpressed with their behaviour and said instantly that he would be ordering them to pay my money back as they'd taken £250 of my money and I'd got nothing in return. They were ordered to pay by the 3rd January but the money never appeared. They've ignored all emails and letters and my last resort is to go up to Leicester myself to get my money back somehow!
To take this further in the courts,( a charge order/bailiffs/ account freeze etc) would cost £200. As there is no guarantee that this will get me my money back (in fact it's very likely it wouldn't) I simply refuse to let Rakesh Verma make me lose any more money that I already have. I am one of many, and some have been conned out of thousands and never got it back.
My only advice is to stay well away from this company. They are well known to trading standards and the police fraud department, and Rakesh Verma is a scumbag parasite who lives off money that he's stolen from honest people who actually work for their money.
