Can any one think of any? I'm talking production cars here.

Aside from kit cars. I can only think of two! I must be forgetting someone obvious surely?

I'll start the ball roling...
Morgan.
Mclaren.

I believe even Aston Martin is part owned by Ford and a Kuwaiti investment company.

Hadn't thought of Noble..Not sure though.
Then I thought of AC, but find they're owned by a holding company in Malta.

Let's say I wanted to own a nice car that was built in britain, by a 100% British owned company.
I'm struggling here...

Bristol owned by Kamkorp, owned by a British based Indian Businessman.

So we're at Morgan, and Jenson, and possibly Noble.
Ultima I would say is more kit orientated, as is Westfield.
The Atom, fair enough it's British, but I would consider it more of a toy than a serious motor car. wink

Holding and limited companies both registered in the UK and headquarters are in the UK. Limited companies are a legal entity in their own right, I thought it was the nationality of the company you were concerned about, not the nationality of the shareholder(s).

I suppose in that case you'd discount TVR as well.

Yes I'd discount TVR. They're not building new cars now, and it's Russian/German owned.

So that's it then.
All sold off to foreign investors, bar three low volume manufacturers! frown

No I wouldn't count Z-cars as a car manufacturer.
Never heard of Ibex though. They look like a serious bit of kit!
I would imagine they are serious money too.

I'm not interested in German cars.
Sounds like you want to bury your head in the sand.
"Pointless thread" Admit it, we've sold out.

If a foreign investor buys a car company, regardless of where it's built, or where the company is registered, it's not British owned is it.
So in my eyes it's no longer a British car.
I'm not denying building foreign cars in U.K is good for jobs and the economy.
But would you now say Bentley, Jaguar, or Land Rover are British cars. I wouldn't.
Aston Martin I would say is a multi-national.
My Nissan, I haven't a clue! They build them in Barcelona, and the NE of U.K.
Opel, Renault, and someone else I can't remember right now, are also tied in with Nissan.

Morgan Car Company, on the other hand (I stand to be corrected if I'm wrong here) is owned by the Morgan family, and built in Malvern. A truely British car! Except they use Ford and BMW engines! rolleyes
Also as has been pointed out, Jensen.
Noble I believe, are now built in South Africa.
