Ive just bought myself a 12V 16AH motorbike battery for my kit car (bike engined)

It came with a bottle of acid, and will need charging.

It says on it: "charging method STD 1.6A x 5-10H or quick 4A x 2H"

Can i charge it with a standard car battery charger, or will i need a proper bike charger?

Thanks

Thanks that saves buying another charger, also is there normally some kind of reaction when pouring the acid in.

As its making a slight fizzing sound, and the actual battery is quite warm?

Well i charged it for 2 hours, the amp meter on charger was displaying at 4Amps.

Connected it up, started straight away, idled fine for a min, started to drive out of the garage, and the engine stopped, and the battery was showing 0.5V!

I tried recharging it, but the battery was fizzing, and was not holding charge.

Now I'm not sure if its a case of i killed it by using a car charger, or could there be some kind of issue with the engine thats killing the batteries?

Anyone got any advice on this? I don't want to buy another for it to do the same to again!
