Is this going to be addressed by BMW

Many on here have reported keyless thefts recently, and now this...

Now BMW are going to investigate. Poor show - why not before, why only when a footballer has his stolen.

Signal blockers, GPS & GSM jammers are cheaper and easier to obtain however and I can see this becoming an issue for other car manufactures too.

Did Ford not have a similar problem to this? I know at least a few people who had cars disappear, (no broken glass, no key theft)

The problem is China are making cheap clones of devices (diagnostic computers - BMW, Merc, Key copiers / programmers) and the not so funny thing is most of these items are being used successfully to aid car theft

BMW can send out a device to all owners in the post, that will plug into the OBD and update the software. May cost a bit to manufacture - or it could be done as a recall / as part of a next service. Or you could disconnect the connector and hide the OBD socket to an alternative location or into the (locked) glovebox.

At the end of the day something needs to be done - nothing just shows they do not care!

Just to add - I do not read the sun, it popped up on a search and it's the first one that seems to suggest that BMW now may act on this.

Defo a BMW issue, however they still issue the same statement about affecting other cars and BMW complies with all EU blah blah.

Tossers.

This issue alone stopped me from bothering with a BMW
