I bought my car with one clear fog light and one black/smoked/tinted fog light. I prefer the black one as it is on a black car looks quite good so I want to get the clear one looking the same, but I'm unsure what to use.

I came across tinting spray and read nothing but bad things about it's finish, which I didn't think would be an issue. The fog light is only small and it would never be under that much scrutiny.

Has anyone used this stuff and can give any advice? Or maybe there is an alternative to darkening the lens I am not thinking about?

Just so I'm clear with this, you want to tint (ie reduce the light output) a light designed to help you see and be seen in fog?

Can I suggest you replace the black one with a proper matching clear one and put safety in poor weather ahead of aesthetics?
I have thought about this.

While I do like the black one my decision came down to price.

To elaborate - As much as I am trying to find out, I do not know if they are sealed units or not. I also don’t know if I can buy a clear lens without buying an entire fog unit. I checked the prices on them and they certainly aren’t cheap. If you are able to tell me otherwise I would me more than happy to go clear. I’d rather just put a new lens in than mess about with spray paint. I just want them looking the same more than anything.
