Hi, I've been thinking about installing one of these systems not because I think I'm going to get car jacked but more to guard against my car getting stolen using my keys.

Took a quick look on Ebay and this seems cheap

although I'm a bit concerned about the car being immobilized if the transponder fails but I could always install a hidden override switch.

Has anyone got any experience of this or can suggest similar systems ?

I'm aware of the Blackjax but don't like the idea of constantly tapping a code in.

Why not just get a hidden switch wired into the ignition circuit?
I've done that in the past and would remember to set it if I stopped somewhere dodgy but I'd prefer something that automatically sets.

That says that there is already an overide option involving a pin code if the transponder fails.

What car are you considering putting it on, because in all honesty if someone wants your car they will take it regardless of what you do, visual deterents are much more effective. If youre not interested in the anit hijack side of this then that equipment is over complicated for the benefit, its little more than a cheap immobiliser.
I missed that bit (I was browsing a few)

My V8 RX7 I already disclok it (at night) but again the key is on the key ring.
