Today I was told off by a woman at a petrol station, apparently I queue jumped, by joining the shorter queue, and filling on the "wrong side".

I tried to inform her that you can fill from either side, and the pumps even say extra long, to allow this.

But her driving instructor had told her to only fill on the "right side", god knows how she passed her test with an instructor like that.

I know some of you have nice cars, and don't want a dirty pipe draped over your car, but in an old banger, would you fuel on the wrong side?

Always do.

What would she have said if you were on a bike?
Good point, should I be filling my bike from the left, or right?

was she fit ?
I would put my nozzle in her, repeatedly, right side, or wrong side.

I quite often reverse in to use the other side - its a lottery though, sometimes the attendants get uppity and refuse to switch it on...
On what grounds?

Trick question, you fill it from the top with bike upright so that you can fit more petrol in.
You have to be joking.

No local station will let you fill whilst sat on the bike.

I used to plonk my SIII Jag in the middle of two pumps and fill both tanks, at the same time if I had a willing passenger.
I would quite gladly queue to watch that, the "wrong siders" heads would explode.
