It's not especially cheap, and not got what I'd call a "full Porsche service history": there are three gaps of two years between services in it's life. And it's got the Laz-y-boy recliner seats. Do we want to take a bet on whether Ice White is it's original colour?

What do you mean rallying?Surely that's a normal morning commute.

So, five day 'Ring trip booked for May, currently no suitable wheels to take, and I'm in need of some inspiration.
Focus RS posted earlier could be interesting. Boxster of course. V8 6 series could be fun for the road trip but not so much for a hot lap. Vice versa for something like a hot Clio/ Megane.
Any likely candidates?

Anyone follow the Bathurst 12hr race over the weekend? 0.4 seconds between first and second after 294 laps!
Wouldn't mind seeing the highlights.Drove the circuit a few years back (in a Commodore, natch). It's around 10 times narrower and steeper than it ever looked on the tellybox. You've a job to stand up at The Cutting. How they race there bumper to bumper is one of life's wonders.
Makes the 'Ring look flat and wide in comparison.
Here's me on the grid just ahead of my ... ahem ... flying laps.

Beards!
What the hell is this?
Which bit? Variously there are a rear axle, a rear spring (and hangers), a shock absorber, an exhaust rear box ....What the hell is this?
I suspect you mean the "rear diffuser" bit that I think was standard on Mexicos (and presumably RS1600s). I vaguely remember some discussion of them on one of the Mexico restoration threads, but I can't remember what it's called.

Which would you choose;
V12 Vantage S
991 GT3
CLK Black
Just watched the video and it is a tough call......but I think the 991 would please me more of the time. I think.
Whilst I still have two legs, none of them. V12 Vantage S
991 GT3

But it would be a close call between a 997 GT3RS and a manual V12 Vantage.

Really? You wouldn't have one of those three for a year, and walk away with nothing?
I've driven the V12 Vantage S in anger and it's a lovely thing, but the gearbox is not for me.

Well, obviously I'd rather have three pedals but I just find all three in that video pretty much equally appealing. Doesn't happen often in a group test for me.
Which got me wondering what else they could have included in the group. An R8 V10 (with manual 'box, natch) would run them all close.
Anything else?
