Admittedly, I am a dedicated fan of Top Gear(UK Version)and have subsequently developed a fondness of many of the cars that you guys have. Its not that i don't like American vehicles, its just that the majority of them have become monotonous. I like the idea of the compactness of your vehicles and i think that they would be very enjoyable on the track (if per chance you could find one here) Either way i have been looking through this forum for quite some time and finally decided to introduce myself and say hello. Below are my vehicles. They're large, bulky, do not stop well and have horrible gas mileage. However, they still manage to put a smile on my face.

Well thank you my uncle gave it to me. He drove it throughout school. As you can see by the front left fender its in need of some body work still. We had it sitting in the garage with things piled all over it and I finally talked him into letting me have it. I'm done with the engine but after the cam, heads and carb, I estimate it gets around 8mpg. So its beautiful until you pass a gas station. Haha. But yes your right I would absolutely love a lotus but honestly have never seen one in person. I had a 944 for a while but when the engine blew it would have cost nearly 4 times the price of the car to fix it. So I took out the engine and replaced it with an lt1 I purchased for cheap. It was so much fun until I was rearended by a Mexican in a Buick .......sigh... I really love the Alfa type cars as well but they're extremely rare here as well. Haha

Out of curiosity I searched and found a dealer in Atlanta also. How much do you think maintenance would be relitive to Mercedes or BMW

Yes sir it is. Its not the big 440 but its still the big block 383 which is a 6.2ltr big block but its still fun. I honestly thought most of you would make fun of it haha. My predetermined "topgear" judgements where incorrect haha.
And I've never seen the three wheeled cars. are they easy to flip? It would be fun to try lol. The top car would be fun with the 113 hp hyabusa engine in it lol

Wow, your uncle drove a Super Bee to school. When I was a kid I used to look at the Brady Bunch's massive station wagon and think if only I lived in the USA.
We didn't even have a car!
Yes he was the second owner of it he bought it for 2000$ in 72. He said he cut grass and worked for two years and also sold his Hz125 dirt bike for it haha.

Welcome!

I must admit that when I first started visiting the States in the late 80's I was gutted to find that everyone wasn't tooling around in massive V8 land barges muscle cars and that the Toyota Camry was the No 1 top seller. It was so wrong. I love that car!
I think still the majority of people are in Honda's, toyotas and nissans. I myself drive a Nissan pickup daily and I love it. Nissan is probably my favorite. Most people where I live drive trucks and suvs as well.

I was just kidding. It's what many Americans say when they find out you are English.
"Hey, I met John from London. Do you know him"?

I saw your name on your profile.

I'm the opposite to you.

I have a supercharged Mustang in the garage and wouldn't trade it for any Euro-blob-of-blandness.
A friend of mine has a 4th gen Z28 and recently bought a Merc 500SL which he describes as fairly antiseptic and nothing like as much fun as the Z28.
My other friend has a Corvette C5 Z06 which he has had since 2004.
My other friend has a 69 Chevelle.

We would no more want a Euro car as an STD.
Yes, I did test-drive an Elise back in the day but preferred my own 4th gen Z28 and Corvettes. Fun needs to be big and lairy.
I guess its more of wanting something different. Mustangs and camaros are a blast but I see them at every stoplight. I mean I love my muscle cars and have owned quite a few but want to try something different. I that's awesome that some of you appreciate heavy American muscle. Its a shame it costs so much to ship cars. The late 90s z28s can be found by the thousands for less than 5k

Christ... I bet you need a car just to drive from one end of the boot (trunk) to the other.
It's a ridiculous size, but it's fabulous.
You can literally lay down in the trunk. Taking a sharp turn is kind of similar to a boat it just floats around corners in its own time haha. But on The express way it will throw you in the back seat.

However its still not as long as this. This car is just enormous and has a 500 big block. Its pretty much a convertable tank and won't even completely fit in the garage. I don't drive this one as much but my friends and I will all pile in and go out in Atlanta with it. The only problem is that all the thugs In Atlanta love to steal these so its almost a necessity to bring your pistol. Its happened three times since I've had it. One guy even stuck a gun in my face at the varsity which is like a drive in food place. But its still fun
