Just a heads up, this week there appears to be a massive influx of scam car ad listings on ebay, thousands of them.

All hacked/stolen user ID's so with good feedback

All classified ad's slightly cheap

Usual descriptive ad text stolen from elsewhere, but crucially the seller puts, message me with your mobile number & will call you back etc.

If you find one click other items, you will find multiple listings from the same seller, for 4x4's, campers, diggers etc

This is one user ID, I have counted 20 odd today alone, so at least 200 plus cars I have come across this morning alone, ebay appear to be not taking them down in any hurry! get reporting folks if you spot them

Well Ebay's response has been comical to say the least, despite a protracted conversation they have still left the ad's up.

If you contact any of them via messaging, you'll get a text back with an email address to send your money to the Nigerian prince.

Currently going by my rough estimate I would say 20% of the Classified car ad's are scam adverts. Whats funny is they so obvious to spot!

Any body here work for Ebay?

What's wrong with this one? If that is a scam it's a good one, i can't see anything i'd be concerned about?
Exactly

Thats why it's clever, the text is from someone elses ad on the net, its the last bit "include your mobile number & I'll get back to you" hey presto text with scammers email & away you go with your stash.

Try sending a message wink

If anyone is stupid enough to send a large amount of cash to someone you don't know to secure a car you haven't physically seen then you deserve to be conned.
That I agree with, however when you are genuinely looking for a car/motorhome to buy weeding out the plethora of scam ones is damn annoying.

Currently about 20% of ALL the motorhome classified ads are scammers!

Bit of an update Important one though

There are a multitude of listings that popped up this evening & the Firefox web page keeps popping up with a web forgery warning. I remember something similar a few years ago when you clicked on a picture however this crops up as soon as you click on the item ad page.

Obviously some serious issues going on, the place is riddled with scam adverts that stay up for days on end.

Has anyone got a Hymer for sale biglaugh
