Awkward-looking coupes

Coupés are generally considered to be more attractive and glamorous than their counterparts, but there have been some munters over the years. Here's three I can think of:

Volvo 262C (not Bertone's finest hour)



Jensen Interceptor Coupé (why remove the lovely glass tailgate?)



Maserati Karif (just no!)

After the handsome 4 door Rover 800 saloon, the 2 door coupé version always looked ill-proportioned to me. Still not as bad as the 5 door hatchback variant though.

Perhaps I'll start another one: "Beautiful-looking coupes" and we'll end up with all the same cars!

Hmmm. I'll think about that while I'm browsing Evoras in the classifieds...

Maybe we've finally realized that coupés crafted from saloons really don't make any sense. Why pay a whole lot more for 2 fewer doors and less rear space, when everything else is the same? It's not a logical decision, is it?
