£100K Garage: Callum Metcalfe

Track prepped Lotus, Abarth hot hatch rarity, four-door Japanese icon and more for Callum's fantasy garage

Name: Callum Metcalfe
Previously owned: 2006 Vauxhall Corsa C 1.2 SXi+, 2013 Vauxhall Corsa VXR 1.6T, 2007 Renault Megane R26 F1 Team 2.0T
Currently owned: 2008 Vauxhall Astra VXR
On the shortlist: 2007 Dodge Viper, Ferrari 355/360, Aston Martin DB9 manual

Germany:Porsche 911 (997) Turbo
Cost:
£51,995
Balance: £48,005
Why I chose it: "If I am ever lucky enough to win a substantial amount on the lottery I'd have to go out and buy a 911; for me they are the ultimate sports car, so that's why I chose it over a very lovely Aston DB9. Whilst it would be very nice to have something from the GT department, my £100K Garage 911 choice is this manual 997 turbo. It looks very mean it black and with 470hp it'll be fast as hell! The 997 is probably my favourite shape, I do like the 991 but generally prefer the older to the newer versions. I'd drive this car all over Europe and bring it up to 100,000 miles because it doesn't seem to be done very often in Porsche cars."

UK: Lotus Elise S2
Cost:
£16,750
Balance: £31,255
Why I chose it: "I have always been a fan of Lotus and one day I would love to own one; I think they are all fantastic looking cars. This Elise seems very nice indeed. It suits the bluey-silver colour well and sits perfectly on Team Dynamics alloy wheels - just the thing for a summer's day blast along some B-roads. This one will be nippy with 170hp and a track ready spec including Nitron dampers Yokohama tyres and braided brake lines. There's even a charge cooler so the potential is there to bolt a supercharger on if I decide 170hp isn't enough!

Japan:Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII MR
Cost:
£14,395
Balance: £16,860
Why I chose it: "I looked at Subarus but there were none special enough in my budget that made me want one over an Evo. The VIII is my favourite generation of Evo too; they just look brilliant and so intimidating in the rear view. I was looking for a Ruri Blue car but this Grey one is a very close second in my view. I would love to take this out during the winter or heavy rain and happily make progress without a care in the world! As well as the nice grey paint this one has lovely Speedline Turini wheels, front Recaros, 400hp and a freshly rebuilt gearbox! There really is nothing not to like here in my opinion."

Rest of Europe:Abarth Grande Punto
Cost:
£5,490
Balance: £11,370
Why I chose it: "I love a hot hatch, having owned a couple myself, so had to have one in my £100K Garage. Maybe this is more of a warm hatch with 155hp, but it is a rare one and I imagine it would be decent fun red-lining it without the worry of losing your license. I actually think this is quite a good looking car, fetching and oh-so-Italian in that fetching shade of red and the seats look great too. This is the car I would use every day for the boring stuff, nipping down to the shops, parking in tight spaces and so on. I wouldn't have to worry about leaving this one anywhere either!"

USA:Dodge RAM SS/T
Cost:
£9,495
Balance: £1,875 (Supercharger for the Elise?)
Why I chose it: "I have never been a massive fan of American cars, so I decided I couldn't part with the majority of my £100K for a Dodge Viper. However, I do really like some of the newer stuff coming out of the States such as the Viper ACR, Hellcat and even the new V8 Mustang. I chose this massive truck as it doesn't really get much more American. This is my only automatic choice, so I can take this one if I am feeling lazy. I will be moving house in the not too distant future and this thing would come in very handy!"

"Car has been retrofitted with OEM Lotus Exige S2 front clamshell. Also fitted with uprated radiator and twin fan setup, along with a charge cooler rad incase a supercharger was added later."
I'm thinking said Elise has had an unexpected interface with some scenery, or another road user?
