Here goes long story..... brought out car from honda last Sept payed for 6 months tax. Been waiting for a reminder thought it had come thru but no its a letter to say we have been driving untaxed car!!!
We have had no reminders went to tax it the day I got this letter but look thru paper work no logbook! Call the garage he said do you have a green slip of paper NO. He reckons all has been done properly his end! To tax the car garage gave me logbook number but I'm so worried we are going to get a hefty fine!! Please help.

I have taxed the car now with logbook number that dealer gave me but what I don't understand is how we never got logbook or renewal letter.

OP - was the car pre reg or a Demo?

Just a thought, it may have been on a Manufacturer deal where they were not allowed to sell it for maybe 3 or 6 months? So they taxed it in their name, but when the renewal came through, they transferred the V5 to you?

We had this with the OT's last car, had a winge (I really should have noticed the missing V5) and the Dealer stumped up for another 6 months for us as goodwill.
No unfortunately

The letter basically said we were caught on a camera driving a sorn car! Which carries a up to £1000 fine and form to fill in about when car was sorn.
Not filled in as it's not sorn with a letter explaining

Firstly, find out how the dealer knows your V5C number (they may not have sent it to the DVLA or retained the new keeper supplement by mistake). Then get on the phone to the DVLA about the lack of logbook. As you haven't got the NK supplement you'll have to pay £25 for a new one.

Was it a new or used car you bought from the dealership?
Used CR V We bought
