PH Photo Gallery: May supercar spotting
A 250 SWB on three wheels, a lovely 300SL and perhaps the worst Bentley you've ever seen - another busy month!
When the sun did shine some very interesting and special cars did make an appearance. A beautiful green on green Mercedes Benz 300SL Roadster is probably one of the classiest things I've seen parked in Mayfair, at the complete opposite end of the spectrum to the green Mansory GT Race (Bentley Continental) that doubtless many of you will be appalled by. Another amazing car I came across was the Ferrari 250 SWB pictured with only three wheels. The owner informed me that the car was entirely original (other than the seats) and had covered over 100,000 kilometres in its lifetime.
Other interesting spots include a Jaguar XJR-15 race car being unloaded from a lorry in Mayfair, the LaFerrari Aperta and SF15-T Formula One car we showed you a few weeks ago, and an extended wheelbase Bentley Mulsanne which wouldn't have looked out of place in a presidential motorcade. One of the first customer AMG GT Rs, a pair of Huayras, an Aventador SV and Aventador S nose to nose plus a few very nice F12 TdFs were also seen around.
It would always be possible to create an album solely of modern supercars and hypercars each month; however, I'm sure you'll agree they don't necessarily have the charm and interest of some of the older cars which I have also tried to include. Make sure to check back in around a month's time for the June instalment!
