How do you solve a problem of nuisance bikers racing up and down the street?
I have a problem with bikers in my area. Not all of them just the knobheads.
My street is quite straight and fairly long and because of this it has speed bumps all the way up however they are the ones with a large gap in the middle.
Now every single night without fail there are bikes that get to the bottom of the street drop a few gears and absolutely rag it to the very top near the next junction. The bikes are extremely loud and very very fast. It got to the point where I had to move my son's room from the front of the house to the back because they were waking him up.
Police don't want to know even though they're going fast and the council are a waste of time.

Anyone had any experience of this and how to solve it?
I suppose the PH way would be to follow them home and hammer frozen sausages in the front lawn or wait at the top and throw a can of red bull at them.
Joking aside it is very very annoying and it appears I am helpless.

Get out there and video them. Present it to the police, ask them to do something about it?
I have sent one video and a few photos of when a few bikes wheelied up the street.

Kids? Find out where they live and chat to parents perhaps.
Fully grown adults it appears. Not talking 125cc bikes here either.
One of the bikes is a black R1.

Doesn't even need to be parked on top of the speed hump. Just a few feet either side would mean they have to slow down to drive around the car just after going between the two humps. smile
Sadly the road is fairly wide. Cars are always parked outsides houses and it has no effect.

I have just emailed the Police again as they didn't get back to me after the last call ten days ago.
I have said if nothing gets done don't be surprised if us residents don't take this matter into our own hands as you are not helping at all. (All along those lines)
I await their ste reply.

They might suggest that you go for counselling for your aggression and intolerance.

( wink )
I don't think I'd be as angry if I didn't have to move my son's room. He's only 7months so sleeping is tough enough as it is.

Call 999 each evening that it happens. It's a nuisance, it's dangerous and its illegal.
101 would be best
I did tend to call 101 but you're on hold for about 30+mins before someone answers to simply "make a note of this" so I email now

I don't rev it up outside the house?!? I start her up, let her idle for a bit to warm up and ride off..
Right, so you're a bit of a NIMBY. Won't rev it outside your own house, but other people's streets is OK? So exactly what the OP was talking about rofl

Where do you live? I want to practice my drunk, stoned handbrake turns, but don't want to upset my lovely neighbours.

Update.
Police got back to me and said "sorry for the delay I have been on holiday"

"I'm afraid that off road bikes are not a priority when more urgent jobs are waiting for officers to deal with them."

Not sure where off road came from.

"Please can you call 101 every time this happens so we can keep a log. Thank you"

Wasting my time. I said I will deal with the problem myself (not sure how hey but perhaps they will worry about me going mad and kicking someone off a bike....which I won't)
