Because Estate Car
Discussion
I never planned to buy an estate car. I ended up getting one as I couldn't find a decent 328 coupe.
I'm glad I did. These things are bloody useful. I'm moving house...again. King size mattress to move? With a bit of washing line, no problem.
First proper road trip after I bought it in 2012 was to Berlin. Now on 194k, still soldiering on.
Isle of Mull last November.
What makes your Estate/Touring/Avant/etc great? What have they transported you never thought possible? Epic road trips? (Un)intented purchase? Pics?

Very nice G3org3y, an E36 touring is a fine looking car, and can't remember the last time I saw a 328 one
Thanks Leins I must admit, the body is looking a bit scabby, rust and cracked rear bumper. Colleague backed into it at work a few weeks back so got a matching crack on the front bumper too. Mechanically very decent though.

Why do 50% of all threads have to turn into fking boring finance debates?
It's not 50%. It's 46.7% which means I get more value out of my existing words on finance threads elsewhere, making borrowing the wordsworth it. If it were 50% or more it would not be worth having the finance thread here, and I would therefore use the finance words that I have in the bank and own the thread outright.

On way to LeMans Classic a few years ago in my old Alpina. Not the biggest of estates, but still took a fair amount of stuff for camping, BBQs, etc. The M3 was full of wine and beer

I'd never go with anything but an estate car for daily duties nowadays. Not only has it handled every task thrown at it but to my eyes it also looks far better than the saloon.
I'd find it difficult not to have an estate car, whether as a daily or a tip car. The 'chuck anything in the back' practicality of it has been invaluable.FlatToTheMat said:
Look, I know its not an estate but I've enjoyed this thread so much and wanted to show my effort :P
4 Large Suitcases, 2 small carry on cases, 2 boxes, 2 backpacks, 1 medium cool box 4 shopping bags and still room for a couple of extra cases. All behind the second row seats
2012 Nissan Xterra Off-Road for anyone wondering

Sadly the 328i Touring in the OP is to be retired at the end of the month.
Here is its replacement: E91 330i.
Why? What is the mileage now? Here is its replacement: E91 330i.
E91 Looks like a nice spec.
Don't think we could do without an Estate in the household. They are just so practical and I do think the E91 (especially in M Sport trim) has aged extremely well and looks great.
