For a while my local shell garage has charged a 9p per litre premium compared with standard unleaded but I've noticed several garages now charging 14p per litre more, which is more inline with the premium BP used to charge for Ultimate.

Those of you who use VPower, how much more expensive is it at your local petrol station than standard unleaded?

Thanks for the replies. My local Shell garage isn't that competitively priced these days IMHO - currently 123.9 for unleaded and 126.9 for diseasal, however their VPower unleaded is 'only' 9p a litre more expensive.
I've been using Tesco 99 recently instead - 123.9p which is a 5p premium over Tescos standard UL. Have to say it doesn't feel any different to VPower when driving.

Yesterday I passed a Shell garage which was 120.9 for unleaded but VPower was 134.9p so despite being 3p a litre cheaper than my local garage the VPower was actually 2p a litre more expensive. A few other garages in the North East have recently changed from other brands to Shell and according to the PetrolPrices website they are also charging 14p more per litre for VPower.

I was just curious as to whether Shell had recently hiked the price up for VPower or whether it was down to the specific garages charging more of a premium.

I think VPower might have better additives so keep your engine cleaner but my daily driver is a leaser so it's kind of irrelevant.

I have tried Texaco / Sainsburys / Esso Superunleaded, admittedly a few years ago now and in a previous car (330Ci) and to be honest they all felt like standard unleaded to me. I have heard that Costco 99(?) is good and also keenly priced. Personally I try and only use VPower or Tesco 99 but after years of using VPower almost exclusively I'm definitely swaying towards Tesco (plus the Shell app offers have been miserly for months now).

Similar to man racer here. Cost me £80 to fill up my Boxster last week - first time I’ve ever paid that much. 143.9p at local Shell garage who are now charging 11p per litre more for VPower, so no longer as per my original post. The next day my leased R also needed filling up so it was Tesco momentum at 130.9. The Boxster doesn’t do many mile and is a ‘keeper’ so I’m inclined to keep using VPower, but my R is a lesser and goes through a tankful a week so my intention is to mainly use Momentum as it certainly goes well on it, even if people on one of the forums reckon the exhaust pipes turn black much quicker using Momentum than VPower.
