Calling VW Up owners, need your view.

Just bought my daughter an UP, 15 plate, 29k.

At slow speeds I can hear a transmission whine.

I know it's a cheap car, so I guess it could be normal?

Anyone else has it, or not?

I can speak with some authority on this as I had exactly the same issue with my 2013 UP (now sold). It was really whiny and growly under load (sounded like a diesel); I took it into the VW dealer and their (not unsurprisingly) response was that "they all do that". I did a lot of research at the time (vw forums etc.) and it seemed to be a common complaint without any clear solution unfortunately.

Thank you, I guess it's normal then. It's not a bad/loud whine, I was just concerned it may get worse.

The car goes out of VW warranty at the end of March so I'll mention it to the dealer.
