Four lane section of M40 northbound. Lanes 2,3,4 busy, lane 1 clear. I was driving in lane 1 at 60ish, not undertaking anyone, and came up behind a white Honda in lane 2 doing an indicated 53. A constant stream of faster vehicles were coming up behind the Honda, flashing their lights, then eventually finding a gap in lane 3. I didn't want to pass on the inside in case the Honda or someone stuck behind it moved to lane 1 so I stayed behind the Honda but in lane 1. Approaching Beaconsfield the Honda moved into lane 1, braked, then signalled right and returned to lane 2.

Still can't puzzle it out. Perhaps he thought that if he stayed in lane 1 I could overtake him so he could better block me by returning to lane 2, but then why move to lane 1 at all?

I try to maintain 70 in lane one. If i have to move out to overtake a slower vehicle then i will make use of the next lane on the right and so on but if there is someone in lane two doing 56 or whatever will think nothing of undertaking as they are moving more slowly than me.
Its not hard to keep left just some people choose not to. I will still try to keep left and to keep my speed at 70 though.
Even when the MLM has a truck on his tail flashing headlamps and clearly panting to get past? You would still pass them both on the inside at 70?

What is the point of this thread op?

Surely you are as bad as the MLM sitting blocking lane one.

Unless you wanted to drive at that speed which in this case this thread is useless
How was I blocking lane 1? Where else could I go?
