2019 Toyota Supra details leaked

Specs and images posted online said to finally reveal 340hp production car!

Toyota's long awaited Supra has generated a justifiably vast amount of speculation ahead of its much anticipated reveal, a situation only exacerbated by the length of the wait. Now, though, the hype bubble seems to have been burst, with a leak revealing the new car ahead of time - and if it's to be believed, things are looking very good indeed.

According to specs and images taken from Japanese magazine Best Car and posted to SupraMkV.com, the new Supra will make use of a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder engine, putting out 340hp at 5,500rpm and 332lb ft to propel the car from 0-62mph in just 3.8 seconds.

We'll assume that engine is a straight six with some turbo assistance too - because this is being developed with BMW, don't forget - which makes for a welcome nod back to the Mk4 car and its legendary 2JZ motor. There's no word on top speed but, with a supposed weight of 1,496kg, the new Supra is 14kg lighter than its 177mph predecessor with 20hp more than the UK versions of the old one.

Styling-wise, the production car looks - thankfully - to be closer than expected to the FT-1 concept, but that's not all, the article even including its supposed dimensions. At 4,380mm long, 1,855mm wide and 1,290mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2470mm, the 2019 Supra will be 45mm wider and 15mm taller than its forebear, but 140mm shorter with 80mm fewer between the axles.

The leak also blows the covers off the recently teased motorsport-focused concept, set to be unveiled at next month's Geneva show. Toyota has refused to comment on the leak thus far, but we'll bring you any updates as and when we have them.

They have been teasing this design for so long that it just looks dated now in my eyes.
