Hi guys,

I feel there is an issue with my cars turbo.

There is a built in turbo gauge. Under full accerelration it reaches between 0.8 and 1 psi, in any gear.

However today, it is only reaching 0.6 psi in the higher gears, even at high rpm.

What is the problem?
I have two years warranty left, however the dealer is a bit funny with it.
I have been twice, with two problems. They sent he home each time.

I went to an independent garage to get help. They told me what the problems are. I went back to the dealer. And they said "yeah that sounds right" and fixed both problems.

Dealer is stoneacre.

Those boost pressures don't seem very high, should they be 6 and 8 psi or 0.6 and 0.8 bar?
I think it's bar, just me getting mixed up.

If you can hear any boost leaks under acceleration?
The engine sounds normal to me,

Is there any actual text to see if there are leaks?

You may see lower boost in cold temperature, less boost would be needed to make required power. Otherwise take it somewhere to get it checked for leaks.
It was a cold one today, you could be right. I'll see how it gets along

I can hear a slight whine when I take foot off the gas and the car slows down

Another highly stressed engine bites the dust
Hmmm I wouldn't say stressed.

My car is 135bhp.

The top spec with the same engine produces 190bhp.

There are people who are running 250bhp

But for how long, don't forget cars these days are only designed to last the length of the finance contract (usually 2-3 years).
I do agree. My mate had one a new Audi, one of the ones on those long life oils. It started drinking oil and leaking into the cylinders.

Those mini coopers with 3 cylinder engine. Faster than my car. Deffo not built to last

But I brought this car cos it's just a cast iron lump of an engine.

I've covered 50k miles, and it's really just has minor issues.
