Furious isn’t the word right now.

Earlier today during a quick stop at a local supermarket I parked up at the back of the car park only for stones to be thrown at my car a second later. The glass of my rear windscreen now has chips in it, but I’m just glad it wasn’t the paintwork!

There’s a park just behind the car park that leads to a rough area of town, and it seems people have been hurling stones and other objects from the park over the fencing and into the supermarket car park. A mate of mine had been parked in the same area just a few spaces away from where I’d parked and they had those heavy duty type plastic mats thrown onto their car! I saw a football being hurled over the fencing too.

Seriously, is there anything more frustrating than having your car damaged from reckless idiots entertaining themselves by throwing stones? Is there even anything you can do about it, besides vent online on PH? Luckily, my chips aren’t TOO deep and are small, so I’ll just grit my teeth and get over it. Is there a correct way to handle these things though? I doubt there’s much point reporting this to the police. There’s no CCTV in that park so no evidence anyway.

Does this happen to be a particular Morrisons branch in the Bolton area? Probably a coincidence but this has been a big issue at my local branch in recent months. I've had stones (and a fence panel on one occasion!) thrown at my car there a few times now by "kids" (around 15 years old) hiding in the bushes - I called 101 and they weren't interested as I expected, but hopefully it was recorded on file at least.
No, this was in Scotland. I honestly don’t get what sort of satisfaction people are gaining from throwing crap at cars. It makes you paranoid because kids could be hiding anywhere waiting to hurl rocks at your paintwork!
