McLaren Senna: Pic of the Week

It's not every week an 800hp McLaren hypercar is driven, so what else could there be for Pic of the Week?

There's not really an awful lot left to say about the McLaren Senna. Actually, that's not quite true, because there is a full production launch to follow which - in theory - should permit some road driving. Imagine that. What on earth must a car with circuit performance beyond a GT3 car be like on the public highway?

That's to discover another time, though. For now we can marvel at a car that delivers all the fine interaction, feel and engagement of a McLaren sports car, now with 800hp and 200kg less weight than a P1. It really is quite as sensational as that combination sounds.

So the Senna absolutely warranted a Pic of the Week spot. But which to choose? Certainly the shape doesn't want for drama. Should it be one of the aerodynamic details? Perhaps a traditional supercar static, scissor doors pointing to the sky and poster pose perfected. A tracking shot? A panning shot? The possibilities were almost endless.

In the end this Silverstone Senna shot (easy for you to say) made the cut because of how perfectly the car's wing is framed by The Wing at Silverstone. With kerb and building either framing the car, you're drawn to the horizon almost as fast as the car will reach it. The picture screams speed, even if the reality of the pic might have been rather more pedestrian.

So it's the ideal thing to bring a bit of drama to your desktop display. Select the format that best suits your machine below and enjoy!
