Hi all

My 2002 Jaguar XKR failed it's MOT on the front two tyres. Garage is going to quote for some 'mid priced' replacements but thought I'd check online myself first.

I may only keep the car another 6-9 months so don't want to spend too much cash.

The originals are Dunlop SP Sport 07s all round. Fronts 245/45 R18 W (100) and back are a Y rating. So looking at replacement fronts in a W or Y really (but believe would still be ok with a (oddly) low rating Z?).

Quick look on Asda tyres and Black Circles shows these brands:

Autogrip
Mazzini
Runway
Comforser
Apollo
GT Radial
Kumho (going up in price now but think these are supposed to be half decent?)
Nankang
Avon

Before the pricer better Yokohama and Toyo's I've had before.

Any really bad/to avoid/recommended? Sure I had some Mazzini's on a car once and they seemed fine.

Thanks!

Ross

Thanks. I am just commuting in it, no track days or anything like that.

Some good points there. Was thinking about the Kumho ones... Not much more expensive are some Pirellis so that's an option too.
