First story I thought of when I saw this thread, and I'm not sure this post got the appreciation it deserved. Yes, speed was also a factor, but a flip-flop should never be an appropriate choice of footwear when you could put other people's lives at risk.

I don't understand why people think leg muscles attached to a bare foot are less strong then those to one shod in shoes?

Same here. I wear safety boots at work (which I leave at work) so drive to and from work in flip-flops pretty much year round.

My accident stats mirror yours.

I wasn’t aware flip flops were such a safety hazard. Never had an issue, must be a PH thing
