My driving licence valid date is showing until 9 Jan 2019. Do I have to pay to get a new one or do you get one sent automatically?

Pay 14 quid. Spend 10 mins filling in an online form, get new photocard in 2 weeks.

You have got a valid passport haven't you?

When mine was close to expiring, my local main post office has a booth that they take the photos in and the do the form there and then for you. The new card just turned up in the post soon after.

A word of warning to anybody, you don't get a warning that it's expiring.
Do you have to get a new photograph done, or can you use the current? Are you saying it's possible to renew in person rather than online?

I'd like to thank you for replying. Things that are rarely done are always vague.
