Hi everybody,

Just wondering if anyone knows the best way to get a car from the uk to France (Lyon region) without having to drive all the way.
I can drive to Dover (eurotunnel) or Newhaven (Dieppe). I don't really want to cross half of France driving. Any auto trains to recommend or else?

Cheers

No motorail service to Lyon. Pay someone to drive it down?
I just don't want to get it to much on roads at this time of the year. I can drive it but the car is never out on the road during winter season. I might have to look at renting a truck in that case?

I have used this company before and they were helpful and reasonably priced.

Ouch! Just been quoted close to 2k for it. To be honest, I think that it is actually reasonably priced but not in my budget sadly.

Thankl you guys for all the formidable offers and options offered. It looks like I am going to have to drive it for the moment. It's not really a problem but with older cars, there is always a worry of braking done somewhere. I'll let you know later what is my option and if someone need sweets or Cheddar to be delivered to your relatives in France, you know I can deliver on my way to Lyon! smile
