Anyone know why cars seem to be driving round with a light on in the windscreen? I'm assuming it's from a dashcam?

Surely it's not any use to light up the road, and just going to reflect on the glass?

It shouldn't do, but it really annoys me!

Yes, most likely dash cams. Why does it annoy you? It’s just a light - bigger problems out there to be annoyed about :-)
I just can't see any point in the light being on, makes me wonder why it's got one on it.

Silly eh.

It's definitely from a dashcam, as above its like when you use your phone camera flash as a torch.. Very strange.

Usually in the middle of the dash, or in a corner.. Not the auto dim RVM, or cockpit lighting.

Most dashcams have settings for the screen to power off after x seconds, 1 minute or permanently on. The amoebas who have them on all the time like the reassurance of a fully functioning dashcam and are ready to pronounce CAM-RAH!. Plus for them it is an announcement that they are not to be messed with.
This is when driving towards a dashcam wker, a phone flash/torch type light on in the windscreen forward facing.. It's weird, why its even got one in the first place gets me.

Exactly this, and the example above.

Surely it's pointless? Anyone with a dashcam know better?
